If there is a question about ski resorts akin to the length of string this is it. OK there are some obvious criteria, mainly involving snow, but after that virtually everything is up for grabs.
Europa
The most traditional venues for snow activities are of course the European Alps, these form the usual backbone of ski season work, and would most often be the first place to start looking. Those of you who have been on a ski holiday will, no doubt, be familiar with the number of EU countries that share the Alps as their rooftop. Seeking work in these countries is simplest, and the opportunities more frequent than any other place. For starters if you are an EU resident then work permits aren't needed. It is not unhelpful to speak another language, but if you're hanging around in Europe, it is by no means essential, the large majority of your guests will have English as their first or second language.
Across The Pond
The second largest consumers of staff are the North American resorts, Canada and the USA. These countries present the season worker with varying degrees of complexity in obtaining employment, but is is not impossible and several organisations exist that can help you get a foot in the door of our frozen cousins over the pond.
Down Under
Next is Australia and New Zealand, visas exist in both countries to allow young people (up to the age of 30) to take working holidays, for which season work fits in most excellently, the resorts are not plentiful but like everything over in that corner of the world, the people are friendly and relaxed.
Everywhere Else
Other Southern Hemisphere opportunities, although fewer jobs crop up, include Argentina and Chile. Both of which offer an array of resorts running in opposite season to Europe, although a working knowledge of Spanish would be needed get by. Off piste as it were ski resorts exist in the Lebanon, Lesotho and even Cyprus, with a massive new ski resort is being constructed in India which should be open later this year.
