New Ski Training Centre in Denver

Nora Pykkonen, co-founder of Slalom Consulting, has purchased the Echo Mountain ski area to convert it into a ski racing training facility.

The centre will be based at the Clear Creek County Hill, and will provide alpine race training to children. Over the coming seasons, the centre will be expanded to include a Super G course, mogul lane and 1,500 vertical feet of skiing.

So if you're a qualified ski instructor and interested in working in a season in the USA, then this could come as good news.

 

New Ski Resorts To Be Built In Russia

Russia has embarked on a large scale project to build 6 brand new world class ski resorts.

The project is being managed by North Caucasus Resorts in southern Russia, and will include the building of resorts in Lagonaki, Arkhyz, Elbrus-Bezengi, Mamison, Matlas and Tsori Armkhi. The resorts' ski slopes will be in excess of 1,100 km, and feature 227 lifts, and be able to handle up to 172,000 daily visitors. There should also be demand for chalet and hotel staff, as the resorts will include accommodation for 102,000 guests in hotels, apartments and villas.

So, if you're thinking of working somewhere 'a bit different', maybe you should add Russia to the list.

 

Holiday Inn Open Resort in China

Holiday Inn has just opened it's first ski resort in China, increasing the opportunity of getting a ski job there.

The Holiday Inn Resort Changbaishan is situated in Jilin Province, in the Changbai Mountain, on the border with North Korea. The resort has 43 ski runs and covers an area of 6.5 km2.

 

Lake Louise To Get Tubing Park

If you're planning on working in Canadian ski resort, Lake Louise next season, you might have another way to spend your time on the slopes. The resort has unveiled plans to build a tubing park.

The resort plans on replacing their T-bar lift in the Sunny Side learning area and replace it with magic carpets, making it easier for visitors to access the learning slope. Some of the slope will also be converted to a tubing park, providing another attraction for visitors.

So, if you've always thought about doing a season in Canada but prefer to enjoy your snow sports sitting down, maybe Lake Louise is the place to get a job!
