Want a ski job that that will involve serious skiing, great powder and a lively night life? Then Val Thorens is the resort for you.
Val Thorens, is the highest ski resort in Europe, so enjoys plenty of the white stuff. Although the resort is very popular with the British, you'll also find large numbers of Scandinavian and French visitors, which should make working here more of a 'multicultural' experience, than say a season in Val d'Isere.
A lot of the slopes are north and north-west facing, so the runs provide good snow conditions. This means that the slopes are not as sunny, so the resort attracts more serious skiiers and boarders. If you are a boarder you will really want to work here. Boarder week, before Christmas is a highly successful in publicising the ski resort to the boarding fraternity.
So with this melting point of snow lovers, a ski job at this resort means you are in for lively après ski and nightlife after work . In the evening many of the bars have discos or live music with dancing and drinking until the early hours. The Frog and Roastbeef is a definite favourite of the British season workers. Also try the Viking for a cheap happy hour, the Tango for Scandis and Le Monde if you like being trampled by drunken Dutchmen.
