Fantastic night life, superb restaurants and the best snow record in the Alps. Taking a ski job in Tignes will make you burn the candle at both ends, the question is are you hardcore enough to survive?
The main areas in resort is divided into seven villages with Tignes Val Claret being the highest, and Tignes Le Brevieres the lowest. With the exception of Tignes Les Brevieres, all of the villages are linked by the free bus service.
Tignes shares the L'Espace Killy with Val d'Isere and with over 300km of pistes, 150 shops, 115 bars. Over 1500 staff work here during the winter season, so you'll be guaranteed some great apres ski.
Like Val d'Isère, the resort is a favourite with British seasonaires, but you'll find a different type of skier. The resort boasts amazing off-piste skiing with great lift access. If you prefer a board, you will also be spoilt with a half pipe, boardercross course, and the chance to enjoy some great freeriding.
Tignes can be expensive, but there are some good fast food places. Evolution 2 Café have burgers, paninis, salads and pasta, for pizzas try Pizza 2000 and if you fancy a kabab, there's Royal Kebab.
There are plenty of bars and clubs to hit and get your groove on. TC’s Bar is a well established Tignes hot-spot. With many years of drunken debauchery under its belt, from 'Night of a Thousand Shots', to Fetish Night, and the occasional impromptu food fight, Brasero blends a cosy dining environment with après ski, music and live sports. The So Bar is a new addition to Lavachet and has a great selection of wines and cocktails.
