Blessed with a massive variation of terrain, high calibre Rocky Mountain scenery and a huge annual average snowfall, Fernie deserves its mantle as one of the world's best skiing destinations. Although people travel from all over, Fernie has maintained its small town charm and genuine mountain culture.

With only a 5 km shuttle ride between the town of Fernie and Fernie Alpine Resort, most season workers choose to secure accommodation in Fernie. Jobs are available in Fernie or at Fernie Alpine Resort.

A season here will give you access to some of Canada's best snow, gladed tree skiing, steeps, chutes, wide open groomers and the new Polar Peak chair. With the biggest vertical in the Canadian Rockies, Fernie is a skier and snowboarder's dream. Five alpine bowls and over 2500 acres of terrain give you plenty to explore and the more you explore this mountain, the bigger it becomes.

After a big day on the slopes, party on at The Griz Bar at Fernie Alpine Resort, catch a local Fernie Ghostriders ice hockey game or party on downtown at one of Fernie's classic bars. Add to the mix, catskiing, dogsledding, snowmobiling, ice fishing and drop in curling at the Fernie Curling Club (cheap beers!) and you have a fantastic place to enjoy a winter season.
