Imagine, the challenge you’re set at the start of the season is:
“to ensure that the children who are with you have a better time with you, their Nanny, than the parents do on the slopes”
I can hear you thinking “this job might be for me!” So how do Snow Angel Nannies go about ensuring they meet their challenge?
Here are some of the activities that we find are popular…
This can be fun, but with a bit of imagination it can be even better! So you have your amazing snowman with a carrot for a nose, and now you can paint him a brightly coloured jacket, a hat and some shoes! What a smart snowman you have now! Let your imagination run wild, build him some friends and all of a sudden you have a competition for the children on your hands and half a day has passed! “Time flies when you’re having fun!”
These can be prepared once and used all season (just changing the clues a little each week to keep it interesting!) Imagine the look on the children’s faces when they find the prize - an easter egg or a christmas angel to decorate later in the day?
What can you and the children paint? You have already painted snow so you’ll have to come up with something good here!
Your role is to come up with an alternative picnic to remember - maybe a snow picnic or perhaps within the chalet .... who will you invite, which favourite teddies have had the privilege of traveling with their owners?
What is there to do in the resort? Walking, hot chocolate stops, soft play, parks and much more! It is your job to make sure you know all about all of these, when they are open, how much they cost, where they are etc. and what better way to get to know this than to try them out?
No one ever gets bored by a good book, so which is your favourite? Perhaps you have a DVD as well. The Gruffalo is a favourite but you will meet many more characters as the season goes by!
A great way for children to record everything they have done each day with their Snow Angel Nanny and parents just love them!
These are just a few of the things you will do as a nanny in a ski resort, but it can’t be a hard season when your job is to have fun!
“Happy children make for happy parents and happy families make for great seasons!”
"...it can’t be a hard season when your job is to have fun!"
